Visiting?

"I lift up my eyes to the mountains - where does my help come from?  My help comes from the LORD the Maker of heaven and earth.

Psalm 121:1-2

Welcome to First Baptist Church Blue Ridge

PREPARING TO VISIT

The atmosphere at BRFBC is a casual, traditional atmosphere, meaning that whether you wear suit, jeans, skirt or dress slacks, you will feel welcome. Our parking lot is located on East First St. (both sides of the road) with plenty of handicap parking at the rear entrance door. The best place to enter the building is the rear entrance from the parking lot where you will find a friendly greeter to welcome you and orient you to the facility.

As You Arrive

Coming for Sunday School at 9:30 am?  We have Sunday school classes for all ages, and our greeters can help you with age appropriate options and locations. Please register any children 0-5th grade as you enter on the computers by the entry way. The greeter can assist with this. Our adult classes meet primarily upstairs in the education wing.

Coming for Morning or Evening Worship Service?  The sanctuary is down the main corridor to the left of the entry way. Make your way into the sanctuary and sit anywhere on the main floor or balcony you would like. You can register children 0-3 years of age for nursery; the check-in computers are by the entry way.  Our morning worship begins at 10:45 a.m. with our evening worship at 6:00 p.m.

"Do you have Children's Church?"  At FBC, we try to orient everything around family worship. To enhance this in our worship services, we do not have children’s church, but encourage families to worship together; however, there are children’s worship bags that can be picked up on your way into the sanctuary that include crayons, crafts, sermon notes to fill in, a fruit snack, and other items to assist our younger worshippers.

Coming for Wednesday evening meal, prayer meeting, children's classes, or youth group meeting?  Come and have dinner with us on Wednesday night at 5:00 pm. Following the meal, the adults are in the sanctuary for prayer meeting, the youth in the youth center for their meeting, and the children’s missions and music classes are spread throughout the education wing. We also have nursery available.

Our Worship Services

Music  Music Director, Pat Young, does a wonderful job incorporating traditional hymns, modern praise, modern hymns, and contemporary Christian music into a worshipful, blended music service. Pat is assisted by many other musicians, singers, and choirs including our worship choir, praise team singers, hand bell choir, children’s choir, and orchestra.

The Holy Scripture  The highlight of our time together is the public reading and preaching of the Word of God. Pastor Rusty Thomas and many other Bible preachers and teachers combine to bring God’s Word to us in each service.
